TYEE TALES – Bob Hall

A Note to the Tyee Club from Bob Hall

Hi,

My name is Bob Hall. I had the chance on August 18 and 19, 2007 to try fishing for a Tyee. On Friday my friend, Dave Wardell, went to the club house and signed me up. On Saturday evening Dave rowed me into a 36.5 pound Tyee. I have taken a few salmon, from Sooke to Port Renfrew, my biggest being 54 pounds, all being taken on anchovie, flasher and down rigger. I must tell you that catching a 36.5 pounder this way, with the rowing, quietness, light tackle and friendliness of other fisher people, makes my 54 pound salmon seem like catching a grilse. The way this fish fought was unreal! I can tell you I was a lot more tired after catching this fish than any others I have caught. I would just like to thank you people for letting me belong to your club. You might say I am now hooked. I will fish in the Tyee pool every time I get the chance.
