MEMBERSHIP/REGISTRATION COMMITTEE
The Tyee Club has 6 categories of membership that reflect various ages and history with the Club.
Below is a brief description for the 5 categories of membership.
- Registered members are anglers who have landed a Tyee Salmon weighing thirty pounds or over within the waters bounded by Cape Mudge on the south and Seymour Narrows on the north in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of The Tyee Club and who have paid required initial dues.
- Life members are Registered members who have subscribed for membership for life and who have paid required dues. Life members have all the rights and responsibilities of Registered members.
- Registered Honorary members are members who have met the conditions for Registered or Life membership and who have been elected to Registered Honorary membership by a majority vote of the board of Directors. Such actions by the Board shall be considered a tribute by the Tyee Club to the individuals so honoured because of the extraordinary contributions to the Club made by the Honoree. Registered Honorary members have all the rights and responsibilities of Registered and Life members.
- Honorary members are individuals who have been elected to Honorary Membership by a majority vote of the Board of Directors. Such action by the Board shall be considered a tribute by The Tyee Club to the individuals so honoured because of special qualifications possessed by the Honoree. Honorary members have none of the rights and responsibilities of Registered, Life and Registered Honorary members.
- Anglers are individuals that have not met the conditions of other member classes and who have paid required dues.
- Junior members are individuals that are 16 years of age or younger. There is no charge for this category.
There are two distinct sections to registering online. One is for active members and anglers (non members) which requires a payment. Payment for wharf fees and club donations are also available with this option.
The second option is for junior and life, honorary and registered quali members which doesn’t require a payment. The Club encourages registration for the junior and life members to assist us in record keeping and maintaining accurate contact information.
If registering online isn’t an option, registration at the clubhouse is also available.
If registration hasn’t occurred for the angler or club member before fishing their first tide of the season, an “intent to register” can be communicated to a director. Another option is to sign up on the sheet at the clubhouse that is used for intent to register. Registration should happen after the fishing trip has ended. If late at night, the next morning is fine.
A reminder to all those fishing that a tidal sport must always be with anglers and be filled out promptly once a chinook is caught. Registering a tyee will not occur if the tidal sport license hasn’t been filled out before weighing the fish at the clubhouse.
